Shallot Kuzhampu Curry
Ingredients
*10 to 15
shallots or 1 big sized onion
*10 to 12
garlics
*1 teaspoon
mustard seeds
*1 teaspoon
black gram
*2 red
chillies
*1 lemon
sized tamarind
*a pinch of
asafoetida
*1 teaspoon
red chilli powder
*1
tablespoon cooking oil
*Salt as
required
Method
Take a deep
pan and pour oil in to it.Then add mustard seeds into it wait for crackling and
then add black gram, red chillies .Wait till the gram turns into brown. Now add
garlic into it then sauté it till it
turns into brownish colour and now add
shallots into it.Saute it with asafoetida and chilli powder but the shallots have to become translucent.If you do not have shallots then take onion and chopped it. On the
other hand dip the tamarind into 1 cup of hot water for 15 minutes. Now add
this water into the pan and add little more water, salt into it leave it for 10 minutes at medium flame
till it boils
. Now it is ready to serve with rice, dosa and chapatti.
